Description
Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is excited to announce an opening for a Medical Receptionist. COMC is a non-profit, federally qualified health center that has served Pulaski, Laclede, Camden and Miller counties for over 40 years with clinics located in Richland, Camdenton, and Osage Beach Missouri.
COMC is looking for a team member who is a comfortable working with patients from a diverse background.
Responsibilities: The CLINIC GREETER/SCREENER will be responsible for greeting and screening all patients and guests entering the facility, while maintaining a clean lobby area. Responsibilities include obtaining temperatures, asking a series of questions and ensuring all patients are offered a mask and are following proper social distancing and cleaning/disinfecting the lobby area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Will be responsible for screening patients and visitors upon entering the medical clinics for signs/symptoms of COVID 19 and Flu to include taking temperatures, asking approved screening questions and immediately diverting patients to specific clinic areas if needed.
• Must be aware of and consistently comply with the required screening procedures.
• Must be comfortable with prolonged use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE, mask, gloves).
• Must be able to gather adequate historical data and ensure patient comfort, flow and confidentiality.
• Will collect and record defined data and prepare reports, as required.
• At times, will escort patients to exam rooms to assist with patient flow.
• Assist patients at self-registration kiosks.
• Will be responsible for the cleaning/disinfecting of the lobby areas.
• May be asked to assist with restocking of supplies as necessary.
Requirements
Qualifications Requirements: The Clinic Greeting/Screener must be a motivated, outgoing individual with great communication skills and a strong desire to serve the needs of patients and perform services to benefit patients and guests of Central Ozarks Medical Center. Must possess a sense of discipline to work in accordance with accepted health guidelines. The Clinic Greeter/Screener must be friendly, possess and utilize tact and patience, and will be responsible for greeting and screening all patients and guests entering the facility to include obtaining temperatures, asking approved screening questions, ensuring all parties have been offered a mask and assisting with patient navigation throughout the clinic including instructing and assisting with self-check in kiosks.
Education and/or experience: GED or High School diploma.
Language Skills: Must possess reading and verbal skills necessary to understand and communicate regarding gaining basic health information.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Other Skills and Abilities: Outgoing personality with strong phone etiquette skills and excellent customer service skills.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This includes moderate physical effort consisting of occasionally lifting or moving over 50 pounds of weight. Must also be comfortable with wearing a mask for prolonged periods of time.
Travel Requirement: To fulfill the responsibility of the position travel to all COMC locations may be required. Employee should have valid Missouri driver’s license.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Knowledge of, and compliance with, HIPAA and 340B regulations is required. Confidentiality of patient information is mandatory.
