Behavioral Health Coordinator

Description

We are expanding our team to serve the needs of our community!  Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is excited to announce an opening for a Behavioral Health Coordinator. COMC is a non-profit, federally qualified health center that has served Pulaski, Laclede, Camden and Miller counties for over 40 years with clinics located in Richland, Camdenton, and Osage Beach Missouri.  COMC is looking for a team member who is a comfortable working with patients from a diverse background.  Must be a motivated, self-starter able to quickly adapt to new and changing conditions while maintaining a professional demeanor.  

Responsibilities: The Behavioral Health Coordinator is responsible for basic clerical tasks such as answering phones, greeting patients and visitors, and scheduling Behavioral Health appointments in a professional and timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information using electronic medical record system.

• Verifies patient insurance eligibility, obtains authorizations from insurance companies

• Facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of patients' arrival 

• Protects patient confidentiality.

• Provides inclusive services and care for the LGBTQ community.

• Mitigates risk by being cognizant of potential stigma due to mental illness, racism, etc. 

• Makes appointments and keeps accurate appointment schedules.

• Coordinates referrals between COMC and other providers

• Efficiently works in electronic medical record system, files and retrieves medical charts.

• Collects and records payments for services.

• Properly navigates incoming and outgoing faxes by assigning to appropriate staff.

• Scans and attaches patient documents to proper electronic chart location or assign to appropriate staff member.

• Welcomes and greets patients and visitors, in person or over the phones.

• Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette.

• Responds to patients', prospective patients, and visitor inquiries in a courteous manner.

• Works directly with patients, healthcare insurance carriers and clinical staff to ensure revenue cycle integrity.


Requirements

Qualifications Requirements:  The Behavioral Health Receptionist must have the ability to plan and organize assignments and be self-motivating. Must possess patience in dealing with all people. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, vendors and all members of the public. Must have computer experience.

Education and/or experience: High school diploma or equivalent.  Must be able to operate a PC in a Windows environment. Able to type or keyboard 45 wpm preferred and ability to operate a calculator proficiently. Familiarity with medical terminology is desirable.  Previous experience in a medical or behavioral health office desirable.   

Language Skills:  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.  Ability to effectively present information to top management.  Excellent customer service skills. 

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to work with accounting concepts such as income and expense statements, budgets, and controls on cash such as into and out of COMC for deposit to the bank. 

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  

Other Skills and Abilities:  Outgoing personality with strong phone etiquette skills, outstanding customer service skills. Must possess very strong communications and interpersonal skills, good telephone personality and must like working with people. Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Must have a willingness to learn, interpret and apply new skills and take direction from other team members. Able to organize information and manage time efficiently.

Physical Demands:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This includes moderate physical effort consisting of occasionally lifting or moving over 35 pounds of weight.

Travel Requirement: To fulfill the responsibility for the position travel to all COMC locations may be required.  Employee must have valid Missouri driver’s license and availability of a motor vehicle.  

Work Environment:  This position will operate out of the Richland Administrative building.  The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is excited to announce an opening for a Licensed Clinical social Worker/Licensed Practical Counselor (LCSW/LPC). COMC is a non-profit, federally qualified health center that has served Pulaski, Laclede, Camden and Miller counties for over 40 years with clinics located in Richland, Camdenton, and Osage Beach Missouri.  COMC is looking for a team member who is a comfortable working with patients from a diverse background.  Must be a motivated, self-starter able to quickly adapt to new and changing conditions while maintaining a professional demeanor.  

Responsibilities:  As a Clinical Therapist, you must have the ability to cultivate positive and productive therapeutic relationships with patients while always maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. You must also be self-motivated; possess strong time-management and organizational skills; and have the ability to manage a high volume of client interactions.

It will also be critical in the role of LCSW that you have strong verbal and written communication skills and exceptional interpersonal instincts that will allow you to function effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, intense work environment. Must be a problem solver with a positive attitude; someone who is open to receiving feedback; that enjoys leading group counseling sessions when required; and has success working with diverse populations.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform Intake/Assessments. Assist in coordination of admissions and discharge requirements with patient, family and staff

• Complete detailed charting of progress notes, daily, within the COMC electronic health record

• Provide counseling to individuals, groups and families

• Develop and complete patient treatment planning, reviews and case management

• Provide pre-certification of services to managed care companies

• Conduct psycho-educational and process group therapy for program participants

• Incorporate patient’s family and significant other in treatment planning

• Be responsible for managing patients ongoing treatment and assessing outcome

• Attend clinical and administrative meetings as required

• Must be able to work flexible hours 


Requirements

Qualifications Requirements:  Must be licensed in the state of Missouri.  High capability to work with Microsoft Office programs and email.  Must possess a valid driver's license.

Education and/or experience:  A Master's of Social Work degree is required.  Preferably 3 years’ experience in a clinical setting serving patients suffering with psychiatric, substance abuse and/or co-existing disorders in an Intensive Outpatient program.  Must be experienced in conducting and managing group therapy sessions. A confident, dynamic, imaginative presenter is needed. Experienced in treating patients individually or in a group setting.

Language Skills:  Excellent oral and written communication skills required.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals or government regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, public groups and/or clients.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to work with accounting and billing concepts.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.  Demonstrates high levels of responsibility and decision making ability as it relates to clinical judgment and adherence to agency policies/ procedures. 

Other Skills and Abilities:  Ethical conduct, strategic thinking and decision making.  Strong training and instructing skills.  Strong professional etiquette and excellent customer service skills.

Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is excited to announce an opening for a Dental Hygienist at our Camdenton clinic. We are expanding our team to serve the needs of our community! COMC is a non-profit, federally qualified health center that serves more than 18,000 patients a year in Pulaski, Laclede, Camden and Miller counties.

COMC is looking for a team member who is comfortable working with patients from a diverse background. A successful candidate will be a motivated, self-starter able to quickly adapt to new and changing situations while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities: Perform those educational, preventive and therapeutic services necessary to detect and treat dental and periodontal problems. Organize maintain and provide oral health education programs.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


* Provide oral examinations and patient charting.

* Provide periodontal probing and charting.

* Provide scaling, root-planning, soft tissue curettage.

* Placement and removal of periodontal packs.

* Provide oral health instruction and dietary analysis.

* Other duties as may be required during the performance of initial and recall exams.

* Provide routine blood pressure screenings.

* Maintain medical history update.

* Participate in health fairs or classroom education as required.

* Responsible for inventory and assisting in the ordering of dental health promotion items.

* Perform other related duties.


Requirements

Qualifications Requirements: Currently licensed to practice dental hygiene in Missouri. Must be CPR certified or become certified during probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment with COMC.

Education and/or experience: Must have GED or be a graduate from high school and an approved school of Dental Hygiene.

Language Skills: Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to effectively present information to the supporting Dentist.

Mathematical Skills: Knowledge of fundamental math, adding machine, calculator, and Microsoft office.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent customer service skills.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This includes moderate physical effort consisting of occasionally lifting or moving over 50 pounds of weight.
