It's National Doctors Day (March 30)!

Today, Friday, March 30 is National Doctors Day! In honor of this day, our health clinics in Mid-Missouri would like to take this opportunity to give a special shout-out to each and every one of our providers. Here at Central Ozarks Medical Center, we truly believe it's not just what we do here, but how we do it that makes all the difference. Keep reading to learn a little more about our providers.

Our Primary Providers

Kelvin E. Bailey, MD

Dr. Bailey has been practicing since 1996, the last 4 years at Central Ozarks Medical Center.  As a Family Practice physician, Dr. Bailey sees patients of all ages.  His interests within the medical arena are obstetrics, women’s health issues, nutrition, and insulin resistance syndromes to include diabetes.

David Cathcart, MD

Angelia Cayou, BSN, FNP-C

Angelia specializes in Adult and Gerontology patients (over the age of eighteen). Angelia joined Central Ozarks Medical Center in July of 2015.

Lisa. L. King RN, ARNP-BC

Lisa has been practicing as a Nurse practitioner for 30 plus years.  She has been with Central Ozarks Medical Center since 2008.  She is Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and is a member of both the American Nurses Association and the Missouri Nurses Association.  She is a volunteer for the Show Me Response Team.

Dan Schmidt, MD

Dr. Schmidt has been part of the Central Ozarks Medical Clinic group of providers for over 18 years. Dr. Schmidt has been Board Certified in Family Practice with the American Academy of Family Physicians since 1986 to present.  He is also a member of Christian Medical and Dental Association.


Barton Warren, MD

J.J. Jones, DNP, ANP-BC, ACNP-BC

J.J. has been in the nursing profession for more than 25 years with the past 10 as a nurse practitioner.  Her nurse practitioner experience has included cardiology, internal, occupational, and hospital medicine. She joined Central Ozarks Medical Center in 2016 and provides care in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

Sara "Ashley" Warren, DO

Dr. Ashley Warren has joined the Central Ozark Medical Center Richland Clinic. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine from the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. She completed her Residency in Family Medicine at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, MO, where she was the Chief Resident. During her residency, she also completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine. Integrative medicine promotes health using both traditional medicine and alternative medicine.

Our Pediatric Providers

Kristen Theobald, DO

Dr. Theobald has been the collaborating physician for Kids Harbor I and II since 2012 and most recently practiced at Moberly Regional Medical Center in Moberly, MO.  She joined the Central Ozarks Medical Center group of providers in July of 2015. 

Our Obstetrics and Gynecological Providers

Sarah M. Buchanan, MD

Dr. Buchanan has been practicing since 2005 and has been with Central Ozarks Medical Center for 4 years. Dr. Buchanan is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Buchanan provides general obstetrics and gynecology services including high-risk pregnancies, menopause, adolescent care, and pelvic surgery. She takes a special interest in bioidentical hormone therapy, alternative medicine, and acupuncture in addition to her specialty in women’s health.

Robert Nielsen, DO

Dr. Nielsen served in the United States Army from 1978-1982, the Iowa National Guard from 1982-1989, and in the Michigan National Guard from 1989-1995 where he served in Operation Desert Storm as a Major in the Medical Corps.
Dr. Nielsen has been practicing Medicine for 27 years and has been with Central Ozarks Medical Center since 2011. Dr. Nielsen is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Our Behavioral Health Providers

Michael Stone, PsyD

Prior to joining Central Ozarks Medical Center, Dr. Stone operated a private psychological practice in the Osage Beach, and Jefferson City areas. His specialty areas of practice are psychotherapy with adults and older adult populations as well as psychological testing and assessments.

Danette Harrington, LCSW

Prior to joining Central Ozarks Medical Center Danette practiced in an outpatient mental health clinic. Danette also worked as a medical clinical social worker with hospice, home health care, ER, nursing home and dialysis patients.

Our Oral Health Providers

Shayna Mattox, DDS

Dr. Shayna Mattox joined the Central Ozarks Medical Center Dental clinic as the Dental Director in July 2016. Dr. Mattox is part of the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Mattox enjoys spending free time at the lake boating, water skiing and relaxing with Dustin and their German Shepherd rescue, Sophie.

Evan Reynolds, DDS

Dr. Reynolds joined Central Ozarks Dental Center in May of 2015.
Dr. Reynolds is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry as well as a member of the Central Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association and American Dental Association and has a professional working proficiency in Spanish.


Kyle Shull, DDS

Dr. Shull grew up in the small town of Higginsville, MO. He attended college at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO and obtained both a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Biology. He attended dental school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in 2011. Dr. Shull loves helping his patients with all their dental needs, from getting out of pain to improving their smile. He enjoys treating people of all ages, from children to adults.
